چکیده
The intensity and frequency of extreme precipitation have increased in many regions the past century due to climate change. Many studies revealed that short-duration precipitations are likely become more severe areas, thus raising a question on whether our urban infrastructures been designed adequately cope with these changes. Currently, Intensity–duration–frequency (IDF) curves, which summarize relationships between for different durations, recommended as criterion infrastructure design stormwater management. However, change is thought invalidated stationary assumption deriving IDF is, current curves could misevaluate future cases. Therefore, it necessary update by considering possible changes precipitation. Nonstationary Precipitation Intensity-Duration-Frequency Curves for Infrastructure Design in a Changing Climate
Extreme climatic events are growing more severe and frequent, calling into question how prepared our infrastructure is to deal with these changes. Current infrastructure design is primarily based on precipitation Intensity-Duration-Frequency (IDF) curves with the so-called stationary assumption, meaning extremes will not vary significantly over time. However, climate change is expected to alter...
متن کاملDeveloping a cross-docking network design model under uncertain environment
Cross-docking is a logistic concept, which plays an important role in supply chain management by decreasing inventory holding, order packing, transportation costs and delivery time. Paying attention to these concerns, and importance of the congestion in cross docks, we present a mixed-integer model to optimize the location and design of cross docks at the same time to minimize the total transpo...
متن کاملReforming China’s Institutional Environment for Urban Infrastructure Provision
Rapid urbanisation in the reform period has resulted in a very high demand for basic urban infrastructure in China. Improving its provision by the public sector is a challenge as problems persist in the form of unmet demand, de® ciencies in cost recover y and inadequate maintenance. Institutional hurdles, particularly the lack of organisational and ® nancial autonomy for the providers of urban ...
متن کاملChanging development path through revised urban design
In the paper is presented and discussed a strategy of city restructuring and renewal towards a more service and knowledge intensive industrial character to meet increased competition between cities in attracting people and growing industries. Special attention is paid to the challenges for local politicians, planners and risk-willing private investors to find ways of switching from one developm...
متن کاملA Prototype Spatial Data Environment for Urban Design
Abs t rac t . This paper describes an interdisciplinary research project aimed at developing a prototype system for representing spatial data. The project involves researchers and teachers in urban design, computer aided design and photogrammetry. The paper first highlights the spectrum of information used in urban design contexts that guided the approach we adopted in developing the prototype ...
